“His response was to fight it with the only weapons at hand—passive resistance and open displays of contempt.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, The Sirens of Titan
Blast from the past- the Daily Kos in 2006 tells us what is all too apparent now:
This idea that some of us had in 2005 or so, when small squads of non-uniformed people followed us around- materializing out of ‘nowhere’ on either end of the country- sure felt strange.
And too, this idea that America at large had itself become a staging ground for military excercises of all kinds was thought to be sort of, um, batshit crazy.
Now, after Edward Snowden- not so much sounds crazy….
Those “Black helicopters,” of yesteryear, circling at high altitudes, above your abode, 10:53p.m.; 1:07-09 a.m. …
Not so crazy….not too unbelievable anymore.
And some of us knew then, that internet searches reveal the means, the methods, and the mayhem involved when a military industrial complex infiltrates every level of society Google- society.
We especially knew that, the fewer results for keywords, the closer you are to top- secrets, and the more likely that guys with crewcuts, skinned heads, and gals with cropped bangs and bootcamp bobs would emerge from out of nowhere into our lives.
Like “JPEN” back in the good old days- what’s in a word….?
