“His response was to fight it with the only weapons at hand—passive resistance and open displays of contempt.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, The Sirens of Titan
Dec. 8th is 35th grim anniversary of John Lennon’s murder – NY Daily News http://m.nydailynews.com/new-york/dec-8th-35th-grim-anniversary-john-lennon-murder-article-1.2456628
It was one of the cleanest- if not most obvious- CIA informed, Nixon sponsored, security street theater, military industrial complex hits of that era.
There is no small irony in the fact that his purported killer was very well travelled- despite the fact that he had no known income source.
Even less irony in the fact that he was carrying the book “The Catcher in the Rye,” written by J.D.Salinger, who collaborated with Nazi’s, dabbled in mind control, and worked for the fore-runner of the CIA*.
The book is, itself a clear charter against sensibility once you realize who wrote it.
And then note that it is recommended reading in nearly every American high school English Lit class.
These days- who needs books? The agencies have access to your children- your daughters- through their Barbie cameras, and the internet, every day.
Considering the bizarre premise of the Catcher, and it’s source in Nazi Germany, we should all be a bit concerned.
Very concerned indeed.
Because Hitlers mantra, echoed by Hillary Clinton, was that ” it takes a community/ village to raise a child.”
‘And after you pass, what’s left to them,’ he/she said.
My bet is that the book will still be recomended reading, then, ling after ‘we’ are gone.
* The OSS- back in Wild Bill Donovans heyday as an unchecked psychopath.
Another attempt to say it plain, which is, even then not simple.
