“His response was to fight it with the only weapons at hand—passive resistance and open displays of contempt.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, The Sirens of Titan
Things I told you are happening- are now ‘officially’ happening. Like- everything I told you several months ago about Stingray capabilities.( check out my archives, KW ‘stingray’)
Leaked Documents Expose The US Government’s Cell Phone Surveillance Options
from the and-they-are-legion-(and-expensive) dept
The Intercept has done it again. An anonymous source “concerned about the militarization of domestic law enforcement” has handed the site a catalog of cell phone surveillance equipment. Many of the products discussed in the pages are making their public debut, presumably to the deep chagrin of the manufacturers and the government agencies that use them.
And, Dirtbags who use DRTboxes- and more, leaked to the Intercept.
the US Marshals Service’s flying “DRTboxes,” also has some impressive technology on display. Its equipment supports “target lists of up to 10,000 entries” and can intercept (and record) voice communications over both digital and analog signals.
Now here’s the best part: this ” leaker” timed the drop of this catalogue for just AFTER the CISA bill passed, which all but eradicates internet privacy.
Which means that law enforcement not only has you fully blackmailed- but they are confident enough to leak this now- because you can’t do a damb thing about it.
Constitution over folks.
And, because I wrote about these devices, and these capabilities several years ago, while they were being used on my phone; and then, several months ago starting in May of 2015 ( mark this post in your bookmarks- nowhere anywhere on the internet had described these devices or their capabilities except me, here and elsewhere), watch what comes next- because these tools are old hat.
The next generation is even MORE intrusive.
Another attempt to say it plain, which is, even then not simple.
